What does Jesus mean when He says “all?” In Jesus’ teachings, the term “all” signifies inclusivity and totality as reflected in the Gospel of Matthew (NIV, emphasis added):
- “. . . all these things will be given to you as well . . .” (6:33)
- “Come to me, all you who are weary . . .” (11:28)
- “. . . he . . . sold all he had . . .” (13:44)
- “. . . caught all kinds of fish.” (13:47)
- “. . . with God all things are possible.” (19:26)
- “. . . with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (22:37)
- “. . . testimony to all nations . . .” (24:14)
- “All the nations will be gathered . . .” (25:32)
- “All authority . . . all nations . . .” (28:18–20)
